For years we’ve supported Henley Literary Festival, but this year we’re doing one better!

Tony Laithwaite will have his own event at the festival, sharing stories from his memoir Direct, released this year in celebration of his 50th anniversary of working in wine.

On Saturday 28th September, Tony will sit down with veteran reporter Jon Ryan to talk about how his passion project that began in a railway arch in Windsor 50 years ago became the worldwide number one home-delivery wine merchant.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Laithwaite event without a glass of wine or two, so ticket holders will also be treated to some of our favourite bottles during the talk at the Town Hall in Henley-on-Thames, South Oxfordshire.

About Laithwaites Wine

Laithwaite’s began in 1969, when Tony Laithwaite took a job washing bottles in Bordeaux… and fell in love with real wine and the people who make it. When he borrowed a van to share these delicious wines with friends and neighbours at home, things went so well that boutique wineries were soon queuing to take part. Today we’re the UK’s No.1 home-delivery wine merchant, with over 1,500 wines to choose from… including red, white and rosé, plus Champagne and sparkling, beer and cider.
