1. Is there any evidence for pasta coming traveling west from China along the Silk Road? obviously the Marco Polo story is BS but can an earlier transmission be rule out?
  2. Whats the origin of Italian pasta dumpling dishes like ravioli and tortellini?
  3. Is there any evidence pasta was also invented independently in Iran? The oxford companion to food mentions a dish called joshpara that is supposedly a form of ravioli. Was this invented by Turks or Mongols or the Chinese or an independent Iranian invention?
